The purpose of the project was to redesign a hotel room and the concept is inspired by another country of choice. I chose Japan because of the beautiful architecture and unique design elements that are implemented in their designs. I did research on the architecture and design elements often seen in Japan. Wood is a main building material because of the frequent earthquakes. Low furniture is commonly seen as a sign of hospitality. I chose neutral colors for the hotel room but wanted to add a pop of color in the bathroom. Red is a traditional color in the culture and is used in most of the architectual design elements.
